My First Three Phase! Results! Pictures!

Hi!

I've been waiting to post this for a while now, but the photographer JUST got the pictures up. The mini event was last Sunday. My Arabian mare, Isa, and I rocked it! Well sorta of..... It was our first event together so there were a lot of new obstacles we had overcome(literally).

My goals were to, a) not get eliminated and b) not to fall off. We succeeded in not doing those so yay!

Anyways, we entered the Elementary divison which was the 2 footers. They were tiny but seemed completely HUGE when you were actually jumping them, lol.

So in dressage, we took a video but couldn't upload it. Anyways, the test was the 2010 Beginner Novice Test B. We scored a 34.4 on it and had the lowest score in the divison. YAY! We got a blue ribbon.(It was the prize for the top three lowest dressage scores in each divison.) I was so proud of my little mare!

Then we kinda fell apart in stadium. Well not really, lol. Isa is very spooky about new fences so I was worried sick that she was going to refuse every single fence. But, that didn't happen, thank goodness. It was only the very last fence she refused. It was completely my fault. My trainer said I had "last fenceitis". I kinda asumed she would go over it when she didn't. So we ended Stadium with four faults. (here's a pic of the big scary jump she refused, lol) EQphoto - E-mail Address Required )

In cross-country we went clean.

So in the end, with the four faults tacked on, we got sixth overall. I was very proud of us to survive that event. I'm lucky to have such a good mare!

Great job. Your horse looked like she was having a good time on XC. I noticed in your pics, your upper body position doesn't change which is fantastic. You're letting your horse do the jumping and not jumping ahead. Excellent dressage score. 34's very hard to get in my area.

Congratulations on your job well done! Welcome to the dark side :) :)

Great dressage score! I just did my last HT of the season and I got a 34% as well.

Bravo! Keep up the great work and look forward to seeing more of you and your gorgeous mare!

Great job!

Don't you know that you are SUPPOSED to eliminate your first time out? It's true!!!

Anyway, the last fencitis is all too common. I was first in a very large three day and I did the same thing at the last jump......I just ASSUMED he would jump such a simple jump and simply coasted in as a passenger. The jump was a feed rack with full bags of grain in it. The dang horse, evidently, wanted a snack. I ended up fourth after that show of poor riding on my part ;)

I tell my students there are three "hardest" jumps on course;

#1 The first jump...they hate leaving the "pack" and heading out on their own. The team hasn't established their rhythm yet.

#2 The easiest jump....The rider simply doesn't remember to give it any respect.

#3 The last jump...the rider assumes that since they jumped everything else and this jump is traditionally easy......
