Smile My Turn To Gush

My 8 yo OTTB Roll A Six aka Huston had his first x-c hunter pace show this weekend. I've been keeping him in the 2'3" range but since we were schooling day before I took him over some 2'11 jumps and felt comfortable to enter single High Beg. Novice 2'9" class. I was already doing pairs for same class. He took to the higher ones w/o any fuss, honest jumper and if anything helped my confidence soar

in the end we placed 2nd in pairs Low Beg Novice (2'3"); 3rd in pairs High Beg Novice (2'9") and 2nd in singles High Beg Novice (2'9") We were only 4 seconds off the opt time (galloping in those open areas really helped him a lot) .

and I just gotta say I love love love my Pariani Monoflap Saddle. What a treasure this was finding at a used tack store .. not a clue what they had and ran out of there so fast after paying $50 for it

Congrats, sounds like you guys had a great time!

You are never better than anyone. Every rider has skills they need to improve. The only one you must compare yourself with, is you.

Btw, I love love love monoflap saddles. I want to get one sometime in the near future. Possibly an Antares.

finally got some more photos and just beyond proud. We've decided to return in 3 weeks for their "derby" but I will be taking my Nat. Show Horse that I am trying to sell. I need some good dressage pix / video. He just turned 17 and limiting him to a trail / dressage home. ME now I better get cracking on my test!
