Thanks MIE! That is the light seat my trainer recently taught me to start using! :) I think when I ride tonight I'll put some canter poles down and work on getting into that seat only :)

Glad to hear it HITS! I suggest you work alot on what I said in your other thread - where you stand right up in your leathers and learn to balance yourself in that position. Work on walk, trot and canter while standing up balanced.

Then when you've mastered that, work on going between your standing position, and your jumping position and your functional 3 point. Ensuring that your legs remain solid and do not budge.

Core, core, core, core and more core! That is the key! :)

Well I practiced my functional 3 pt. Last night and there wasn't anyone there to video it, so I'll have to see if I can get someone to tomorrow or Friday...but it felt good! I even popped over a couple jumps in it, and it was much easier to stay anchored and balanced over her back! And from what I could tell (when glancing at my shadow on the ground LOL -- I was outside with no mirrors!), I wasn't doing the "jelly back" with my lower back, because I was slightly in front of the vertical instead of straight up and down, and I was gripping more tightly with my calves and slightly with my thighs too, actually using the knee rolls which I NEVER do for whatever reason

Anyway, I am potentially doing another Combined Test Saturday AND a hutner pace on Memorial Day (WHEW busy weekend hehe!!) so I'm going to use that seat in my jump rounds and see how it goes for us!

I don't know why Nelson does that, he's always has. Oddly enough, he doesn't make a sound when we are out doing CC or out Fox Hunting.

I listened to the video with my surround sound headphones on, and he doesn't grunt over all the fences, but it is very apparent when he does.

It could be pain? He has arthritus in his hind right hock due to the injury he incurred in January.

I have a lesson today, I'll be sure to make it aware to my Coach and my buds who ride with me, to see if he does it. We have just started his loading dose of Adequan, he's coming to his 3rd injection on Monday. It seems to be working, because he's been full of piss and vinegar since his first injection.

Yeahh lol well let me know how that goes!
I don't want to think its a pain issue I mean who knows my horse does it only sometimes too my friend said he either enjoys it or its his ulcers in his tummy acting up (hes a cribber) and its just pain
But I always like to think he just enjoys it!
