Nelson's and My Last Event Of The Season

And we did awesome! I am so proud of BooBerry!!!

Nelson and I placed 1st out of 36 riders for the Indavidual! And our Team "The Wild Things" placed 5th out of 9 teams.

Dressage was at 8:20am. We scored 34% and were 4th after dressage.

Here we are walking around the ring before the whistle blew:

I honestly didn't expect that great of a score, seriously! I expected to get a higher percentage, like higher 30's or lower 40's. I was flabbergasted when I was told we were 4th after dressage out of that many competators!

Then came CC. CC came at 1:00pm for us. That long of a bloody wait from Dressage to CC!! It sucked! By the time it came for us to get in the saddle and warm up, I wasn't in it anymore. I seriously just wanted to scratch. I was tired and peetered out - so were my friends and others who were warming up at the same time as I. Too long of a wait inbetween phases!

So, came CC. We had 15 fences, and the course ran 1360 meteres. Optimum time was 4:12 and the time limit was 8:24. The speed was 420mpm - Nelson and I came in at 3:15.

Double Clear for us! LOL - the course went by so fast, when I was riding my last 2 fences, I was thinking "wait......this course seemed to go by too quickly.....did I miss some fences?"

Nelson had a great time! I let him go between the fences, he just had a blast! My friends and family who were on the side lines watching said "wow, you two went really fast!" lol - I know it!

Here is our team. Since we called ourselves "The Wild Things" we wore animal prints for our CC colors. Typical, my family caught pics of everyone on our team, but me - going over fences....pfft. So I have to wait for the Professional Photographer to post the pics he caught to see pics of Nelson and I.

Here are a couple of pics of Nelson and I. This one we came out of the water complex, and are about to cross the road

WOOOOOT! That's all they got of Nelson and I - woooooo. Lol

Here we are after CC, heading back to the barn to untack Nelson:

So after CC, Nelson and I bumped from 4th, to 2nd.

    And then came Stadium

OMG, stadium was a shameful round for me! I couldn't stay over my feet, I couldn't stay off of Nelson's back, I was tired, drained and pooped out! My legs were jello, I couldn't get a steady rhythm, nor keep one - pfft....I rode horribly, I was all over the place. Seriously.

    It was all Nelson!

I can't believe it! 1st place! We got a huge blue ribbon, and $100! I am so proud of Nelson!

    CONGRATULATIONS!

I can't believe they made you wait about 5 hours till the next event though, that's sucky. But it looked like the wait didn't phase Nelson in the least! What a team you two must make.

And slightly off topic, Nelson is one stunning boy you got there. I don't believe I've ever seen a horse with a dot in the middle of it's blaze. Too cute!

Congratulations! You guys look fantastic! =D

Ugh, I know what you mean about the eternal wait. We just did a horse show this previous weekend that was hours late. I was on and off of my horse and he was in and out of his stall all day! At one point he refused to walk into his stall Ahh the joys of horse showing...

Keep up the good work! BTW - Nelson is sucha cutie!! Can't wait to see more pics!

***Absolutely adorable animal print idea may I add***

    Congrats!

Just curious in general (as I have no experience)... Do you get any real prize (not just a ribbon) if you win and become, say, 1st rider of season?

Congrats MIE! That's the best feeling ever!
And I totally know what you mean about the dressage scores, I never feel like I do well in the dressage phase, but sometimes I surprise myself!
