I'll be te first to admit that I don't know squat about your dicipline, but I do see a horse that is enjoying his job and a happy rider. Doesn't get much better! So nice to see people actually enjoying themselves at a competition!

    Congrats.

Thank you Jake and Dai! I greatly appreciate your kind words :) :)

My Coach did very also, especially on her young and green TB mare. They placed 4th. They were 3rd after dressage, where I was 9th. Then they bumped down after CC because they were too slow, but for her she was working on her mares education, and the course had a couple of fences where BN riders had to walk around to get to our next fence on course - so she didn't want her mare to think that she got away with not jumping the fences, so she had to work out a way to have her mare walk quietly around those fences, and know that it was her riders idea to not jump them, not hers...so that's why they bumped down drastically after CC. I went up from 9th to 7th after CC because we were a couple of seconds too slow.

Then they rode clear and beautifully for stadium and bumped back up to 4th. And Nelson and I bumped up to 2nd.

Ktibb - thank you so much, that means alot to me. It touches my heart to know that you can see the joy in Nelson! He's been through alot since Janurary, where he incurred a horrible hind right leg injury and then a massive colic where I almost lost him.

He has arthritus in his hind right hock now, but we're doing treatments to help him be more comfortable and happy - which apparently show :) :) We were supposed to move up to Novice, but my Vet said to stick to BN for now. I am totally fine with that, because I am enjoying the time we have together, doing what we love, together :) :)

YEAH NELSON! And kim... JK you know that I love you both as a team! But mean mommy woke poor lil Nelson up from his nice nap in the start box! How dare you!

What I've learned from being on an ex-prelim horse is that you ride the pace until about a minute before you're done then you check and see where you should be. Then I pull up or speed up because then I know it won't effect me greatly. But I also don't mind going fast because I'm bumping up to novice soon. :) Minute markers are my BFFL's. Seriously. Then, I always know where I'm suposed to be.

He was LIT UP on the stadium! WAnna transfer some of that to Geof at our next one day? Lol poor baby is so out of shape!

Thank Stormy! And ah..dont' forget, Nelson went Prelim too missy! PHPTHTHPHTP.

You know, I usually never ride my watch. I should never of brought him down to a walk, we should of just slowed down our canter, or brought him to a trot. I should of just rode our pace and ignored the didgits. My stupid fault, wont do it again - ever.

Nelson definitely LOVES to jump eh!

Stormy, be careful if you pull up late on course and just start walking, or something - you can be penalized for an intentional delay. I almost got busted at Difficult Run PC Horse Trial for that once, but got a warning instead... I didn't know that it was a rule 'til the TD called me over and told me. Ooops.

PS- MIE, your helmet looks fab!!!

    Very nicely done! Good job!!

I have seen far worse dressage tests, believe me. His canter departs hurt you....but nothing training can't cure. One thing that will instantly improve scores....accuracy. Every time you get an inaccurate transition hurts big time.

What a great comeback. I love it!
