So we whent to a schooling show this weekend and im pretty darn proud of my boy! A little backgrownd: started riding Chase last november had to have the winter off tho so really started "traning " in april! we worked really hard to get were we are and im soo proud of him! so if you guys would be so kind to critic my horse and me please we would appreciate it ... my mane problem lol is i get nervous and get tense or i comcentrate to much on what my horse is doing and getting him in a good frame and all that that my own position suffers from it! We have plenty of room to improve so shoot !!!
I have nothing really to say about your basic Dressage position as it is very good for being in a forward flapped saddle. You are clearly riding the horse forward to the bridle, but be careful you also need to balance him with his forehand up - he is diving down and behind the contact. This takes lots of transitions and a more effective half halt with your body back and a strong core.
I would also love to see you with some gloves on in the Dressage just to finish the picture.
You two look very harmonious, good luck! Posted via Mobile Device
well thanks you very much yes were working on that !!! were doing alot of hill work as well to help him self carry better haha yes i know stupid gloves disapered! lol
Thanks !! its a omg... the name asscapse me tho i will find out for you lo its great cause its synthetic which is very easy to clean and as durable. plus very universal i can use it to jump, do dressage as for x-country love it!
you horse has a very nice jump... and although you are a wee bit ahead of the motion, your heels are down and your release looks sufficient. Glad to see you're looking up and ahead at your next fence in your jump shots.
Nice riding!
Is that a Thorowgood saddle? Your dressage looks very nice. Wish my horse would move along that nicely during his tests. I agree with Anebel. Very nice dressage position. How did you score?
Dressage looks great, wish my horse would move like that! For the jumping, the only real crit I have is to get your toes in a little more. You also seem to be a bit too far out of the saddle but it might just be in that one picture. (I know position over the jumps isn't really that important in eventing, but I've done hunters for years and am just not switching to eventing, so just my opinion.)
Anyway, you guys looks great overall. Your horse is STUNNING by the way
your dressage looks great! there is just one little thing that i can see (and it's because its my problem too!) and thats that your hands are turned down quite a bit. you want your thumbs facing the sky a little bit more, other than that, super cute horse!
You look like a very good, capable rider and I love your horse
Let me just offer a tiny bit of advice that I'm working on. You seem to be jumping ahead, which everyone knows is baaaad juju. Try to stay back and wait. Your horse will lift you out of the saddle. Ride like there's no jump there. Like you're just cantering about. There is no jump. Ignore it.
Otherwise, we get these stiff, odd looking jumps that don't benefit you or your horse and then it's all sad.
Your horse is adorable! All I can say is in the 3rd picture you need to push your feet more forward and that should help get your rear more over the saddle.
