Ok, the boogie bass made me laugh too (and now, thanks to MIE I have to go out and get some ice cream). I'm thinking of doing some schooling shows this summer, and the thought of showing with 10 year olds makes my blood run cold (I'm in the over 30 crowd). Thanks MyBoyPuck, this thread has given me the courage to go for it! Though, I'll be really sour if I don't get a boogie bass...

Yeah, she got me on the ice cream thing too. It's 10 degrees out and I'm eating an ice cream sandwich.

Around here (area 3) Everything below BN is called either Tadpole or Amoeba. Name doesn't mean anything. Tadpole ranges from experience riders with very green horses to people just starting to ride. Don't be ashamed to be in tadpole. I've been to ALOT of tadpole events with my green OTTB and I used to do training level. Every area calls it something different. I've heard intro, tadpole, amoeba, chicken little, and green as grass.

Not a problem. I stopped being self conscious somewhere in my late 30's. The 40's years are greatly underrated. Me and Puck are going to kick some fish butt!

MBP- only because I am a giant zoology dork I feel obliged to tell you that tadpoles are amphibians... Is it sad that amoeba would seem less condescending to me? Giant. Dork. I'm sure you're going to kick serious butt, show 'em how us 'seniors' do it!

You know, maybe you can get your Boogie Bass - that is, if you are priveledged enough to win one at an Event - with your name engraved on that gold plate on the plaque?

Maybe instead of it saying ROCKING FISH, maybe it could say ROCKING EVENTER?

~~~
OH! Or maybe, if you are talented enough - you can get one of these?
Reading this thread, I thought "Darn, everybody else is snowed in with too much time on their hands too."
Maura- no snow here, but plenty of studying to procrastinate on. MIE... oh. My. God. If that frog trophy were up for grabs, I'd be training day and night!!!!
Seriously though, I watched a movie about Erin Go Bragh last night (little connemara stallion) and eventing... ok I want to try it so badly some day. Probably should learn to jump first though, huh?
Erin Go Bragh is simply amazing. It awes me to see him in action!
On a serious note, though I did love the bass!... if they won't put you in your own age group then you may want to consider riding HC. Then, you won't be taking ribbons from 8 year olds I did this at a hunter show once. I was doing the ground pole and crossrail division with 5 year olds and tiny ponies whereas I was on a 3 year old 17hh monster and I was 14 at the time! Haha. Made me feel a bit better about going, knowing I was riding HC
HA! Are you kidding me? NO WAY HOSAY I SAY! I'd take the blasted ribbons and rub it in the little stinkers face while I'm at it!
I'd take the ribbon and turn to the others who didn't get one and not only raspberry them, but say neener neener and shake my butt while I walked away.
Show them how to git er done I'll tell you what.
HA HA! Look what I got and you didn't! PPHTPHTPHTPHHPTHPT *crosses eyes and makes a face*
