Turning this mare into an eventer!

So I thought I'd show a video of one of the New Zealand horses that is currently in training for eventing! The mare can jump, no doubt about it! Her dressage is also coming along quite well. The next video is from August, before she was imported (and while I don't really like the rider, I think she looks pretty good).

I wish I could find pictures of her schooling cross country! She's schooled Training and some Prelim and will start competing at training level this winter/spring! I'll definitely try to get more pictures when I head out to the east coast! I rode her in early November and oh my lord, her movement is so, so nice. I would rather sit her trot than post it.

God that dressage rider just looks horrible flopping all over the place and spurring the poor horse constantly.
She looks like a lovely ride though. She just popped over those jumps so effortlessly.

Yeah Amir, I was cringing at the dressage rider, but I still think the mare looks good, haha.

She's a fabulous ride. I didn't jump her, but I watched her school some training level (3'3" ish) and preliminary (I want to say 3'6"-3'9"?) cross country and wow. Coming from a show hunter/show jumping background she's far more careful than the other horse that came with her, and she's not necessarily spooky but she'll take a good look at the jumps. The only one she didn't peek a little bit at was a huge 3'6" red and white pipe-organ jump, lol. Maybe she's just used to the bright colors!
