I work nights, so that's where all my "free" time comes from. I don't get the 9-5 crowd. When do they ride their horses??

After 6 when its dark and cold ! I have a really weird schedule, I work either split shifts or 11-13hr days [with not break] way more fun to ride at night in the summer when you can actually see outside, and feel your toes !

Why can you only ride twice a week in the summer ?!

At the moment my horse is rehabbing from an injury, so we're walking everyday for 15 minutes, woo! Hopefully we can do more soon, the vet's coming Monday. But normally we do flat work for two or three days, then jump, then she has a day off. We don't consistently go for trail rides as I can never seem to find people to join me :/ But this year I plan on working them into our weekly routine.

Haha, I actually prefer going by myself Monroe is too uppity with other horses and he is much better by himself.

Hey im a full time rider, so its 5 days a week training plus 2 days competing.....by this time of year im so exhausted I jus want to sleep non stop lol!! I usally ride 7 horses a day all in various stages of training includding some OTTB

All the competition horses get monday off, I do mainly eventing, so my horses get 1 day of flatwork sometimes 1 day of jumping (if its the middle of the season I don't bother jumping them in the week), 1 day of fitness/gallop working building up every week I start training them for a 3day about 4months beforehand. Usally 1 day of hacking and hillwork.

I don't beleive every horses needs an hour of work everyday, im very flexible, the OTTB do not need near as much condtitioning work as the warmbloods or mixed breed ponies. IN fact the horses I ride for clients only get worked 3 days a week anyway. Its all about the quality of the work not quantity.

I ride year around all though I wish I didnt sometimes. In winter its lots of road rides rain or shine as our place turns into a mud pit for 6 months of the year...haha I have to be very imaginative in my schooling because even though im a professional I don't actually have an arena!!

My horse is fine by herself it's mostly me! I hate going out alone, I also hate being alone in general, everything seems infinitely scarier when I'm all by myself, especially the woods!

I'm one of those 9-5 people, or rather it's usually 8-6 or even 7 some days. Last summer I got to ride at the weekend and if I was lucky got out to the barn to lunge or something about twice during the week. This year I am planning on trying to ride at least 4 times a week even if I have to ride in my lunch hour, when the weather is better and the sun is out I should be able to go straight from work to ride which will be heaven.

Last year was all flat work in the arena and getting the weight off my poor horse, this year I plan to add some jumping, free jumping and small jumps under saddle. I'm also planning on adding hacking to our weekly schedule, I started today by riding around the barn and down to the busy road to see the cars, plus the boarders were kind enough to ride past my horse and he isn't bothered by cars at all which is just great.

Oh yeah I could see that... woods creep me out! I am glad I live in the desert, everything is wide and open!

I don't mind riding alone, but it gets quite boring. I like to be with others, so then I can have the company. It's nicer to ride with friends - except friends who can't stop talking...that gets annoying :P

I work 2nd shift. I used to work Grave Yard, for 2 years I did it - and it was aweful. Personally, I like day shift, I like ending my day at 5. Now that I am doing 2nd shift, I start at 3:00pm, starting my day at that time sucks, when I should be ending it.

Now I ride in the morning, come home, have a little snooze and then head off to work.

I wish I had a normal schedule at whatever time ! Some days I work only 4-6hrs, but I sometimes work 14hrs straight. The problem is I don't know my work schedule in advance so I can't really plan for anything =[

On the bright side, jumped gypsy for the 2nd time in 3 months yesterday ! She was so good =] when I have jumped her for awhile she gets really happy and squeals really loud after the first few jumps !
