So all my mental anxiety was for nothing! Primo was an absolute pro (as much as a green horse can be) at the event. We hit some traffic on the way down so I only had 20 minutes to tack up and school for dressage. We dropped our score by 10 from the last event to a 34 to put us in the lead. He was so great jumping. It's finally clicking... forward jump. We had a few hairy moments because the course had a lot of tight broken lines, but he cantered on happily (see the attempt at smiling on my part). Most importantly we went clear. XC was much the same, we trotted the first fence but cantered and actually galloped the rest. Two fences were a bit "scary" and he thought about going a different direction, but decided on the over option. I was so proud of him! The pics catch a lot of the green moments, but all in all it was awesome. I can't believe that his second event out we took the division. Granted it's only elementary... but tiny steps for us. I'm glad I finally have pics to look at too... I see some things I need to work on. Any tips are also appreciated.
