My cross country(and showjump I guess) colors are royal blue and black(: Im still a junior and I only compete in low level events. I find them a good medium between fun and classy.

For dressage I always wear white pants, white show shirt, black coat, black belt, black helmet and black tall boots. The pony has a white saddle pad(and we are lucky enough to have seperate dressage tack, but that's not nessacary at low levels)

im my pony club we are REQUIRED to show in white/black with the exception of the navy polo shirt.

    Thanks! :)
Would I have to braid for dressage? My arab has a regualr arab mane and I wouldn't be able to pull it.

I would say you would be fine at BN and novice to not braid. You could always do a running braid though.

I would braid at a reconized event but not at a schooling event/starter event

Okay. We are hoping to compete at Novice/Training with our club next year, so I will attempt a running braid. :)
I'm so sorry for all the questions haha, but what kind of breastplate would you guys recommend?

I have a simple full leather one, that attaches to the saddle and girth, but a lot of people I know like the 5-point

Okay, I found a really cheap 5 point on ebay, so I might just get that one. :)

I prefer conservative colors like white, black, and navy even for cross country. I see no problem with going crazy colored for cross country but I would stay conservative for Dressage and Show Jumping.
When you do your running braid make sure to take small pieces at a time or your braid will turn out shorter than the length of your horses neck! Also try to keep it as close and tight to the neck as possible. I like to braid the morning of so that they can't pull out the braid overnight. Practice a lot before the event :)
