i took gypsy xc schooling a couple days ago and she was awesome ! she was super hot and sassy but got down to work and jumped great. we schooled BN and some novice for the first time.
here are the pics, feel free to critique if you want to !
shes five and has completed one event at BN, i plan on eventing her only at BN through next year then moving her up to novice the year after. i hope to compete her at least up to prelim. she is a very bold and willing partner and my forever horse so i dont want to push her too far too fast. she loves jumping, especially xc !
i also plan on breeding her at some point in her life.
Well, she is really nice. If she goes well with you, you might consider embryo transplant to keep her in competition and still get a foal. Personally, I like shopping for babies I can see. I know what I'm getting, then.
You plan is very sound. Will yuou be showing this fall?
the reason i want to breed her is because she is a lot like her sire who i liked a lot, but he was euthanized due to old age. if he was still around i would just buy a sibling ! she was bred to do hunters, but is a mare, too hot, too small, etc. plus, she would be so bored just doing hunters. when i breed her i would plan on keeping the baby no matter what i got.
im taking her to a mini event in october, but then no more events until next spring. i might do some hunters and/or jumpers with her this winter just to get out an do something.
mudpaint, i wish it was more local, that course is over 2hrs away from where i keep my horses !
