Doc's keepin Time was not in the young Black Stallion, He was in the tv series, The Adventures of the Black Stallion. He is in part of the season 1 episodes and part of the season 2 pisodes. The horse used in The Young Black Stallion was a purebred Arab from Africa. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but I heard that horse was actually bay and not black. Since I mentioned The tv series, does any anyone know anything about the horse that was used to portray the Black in the France episodes?

I seem to remember that at the end of the movie it said the Black was portrayed by Cass Olé with the name of the stud he came from...

Cass Ole played The Black for the main part of the original movie, but the fight and race sequences were played be another horse. He also did The Black Stallion Returns along with El Mokhtar.
