Above is a picture showing the mega-talented superstar eventing pony, Theodore O'Connor, or Teddy. Anyone remember him??? Foaled in 1995, Teddy is a Anglo Arab/Thoroughbred cross standing proudly at 14.1 1/3 hands high! His sire was Witty Boy, a Thoroughbred, and his dam Chelsea's Melody, a 1/2 Thoroughbred, 1/4 Arabian and 1/4 Shetland cross. His total earnings was $50,518! Despite his size, he was fiesty and could jump the moon after performing a near-flawless dressage test.
May 28th, 2008 was a tragic day. Teddy spooked at something while being ridden and bolted. The rider fell and Teddy took off towards the barn. In a freak accident, he slid into the side of the barn and lacerated his right hind leg about 4 inches above the fetlock. It looked like a knife had cut it; he cut open ligaments and nerves and tendons! The humane thing to do was to euthanize the beautiful pony.
Does anyone remember him?? It seems as though he's a forgotten dream and I never hear anyone reminicing in his life like they do with Barbaro or Judgement or something :) Let's play a tribute to Theodore O'Connor, superstar pony!!!
