Treat him like you would a wild 2 month old foal... Sit with him, give him grain/pellets from a bucket that you're holding. It's a slow process. We bought 9 yearling heifers that were wild. They would come in for their chop (ground grain), but then would take off! My sister and I worked hard with buckets of chop and curry combs. Eventually we were riding them. LOL! Now days we don't bother taming anything we don't have to milk. BTW, if you aren't planning on using him as a bull... well, same deal as you would with a stud colt.

Thanks Cherie! I'll be mixing it with some grass hay from our big bales, then, as I'm pretty sure he's not had alfalfa before. I definitely don't want to deal with scours!
