Clucky, who isn't alive anymore, was probably one of the best cockerels I'd ever had. He was actually a guaranteed hen when we bought him - pah, yeah right - and he's a Rhode-Island Red cross with something else.

I just thought I'd share this with you, because he was a one of a kind, in my opinion. Although many cockerels may be like him, to me there is only one Clucky.

Originally, before we took him to the barn, where the horses stayed, he lived in my back garden and would always be invited inside where he'd snuggle in my lap whilst I read a horse magazine, or watched the television with my mother. He never crowed, so he was allowed to hang about a little while longer in the garden.

Once we took him to the barn, he remained very friendly, and allowed me to run to him, pick him up and cuddle him. In fact, this chicken would even let me cradle it like a baby, and rest him on his back ion top of a hay bale until I returned.

Very often, I could muck out a stable, fetch Seamus (who is no longer around either) or just go for a quick walk around the barn only to return... and find him in the same position in which I left him!!!

PLEASE remember, I was a bit younger than I am today when I did this. Overall, Clucky was very healthy and lived a pretty good life... in fact, he was so good, that the foxes decided they wanted a bit. I really think, if he was alive today, he'd be doing all sorts of photoshoots XD

I did so much with him - I took photos of the boy "advertising" different products and all sorts. I'll post pictures in my second post, as I have no idea how to.
