Garbage can lids make really great "shields" to protect yourself from a rooster. The handle is very handy. I love the plink/thud sound as they hit it, and then they stagger around a bit. It makes me feel very medieval (or maybe just evil) or valkyrie-ish.

Anyone who thinks that sounds heartless has never had a rooster come at them.

A very sharp hatchet also makes a good weapon against a "man-fighter" such as this

What was that murderous prostitute that decaptiated her victiams....hatchet molly.

Then a rock group took the name for them selves but call them selves molly hatchet. Back in the mid 70's I believe.
