Hamish update :)

Well, Hamish is now out in our "maternity" lot and I've put Elvis in with him. This serves 2 purposes: 1)Hamish has a buddy 2)Elvis won't be tempted to breed our old, arthritic rescue mare (or Sizzle again after she foals).

Hamish comes RUNNING to me now, even if I don't have the feed bucket. He won't let me touch him, but he will stay by me. I sit with him while he eats, and he will let me within a foot or two during this time. He's just such a cutie...I've missed having cows and calves around.

Well, I'm not sure if I'm going to cut him and just keep him for a pet, or, leave him intact and lease him out. Jury is still out on that one....

Either way, you should teach him to do tricks! Lol

HAHA! That would be fun!

Cut him now why he is small and you can handle him. If you wait till he is 1000lbs and turning mean it will need to be done by the Vet. By the time he is a yearling he should really be feeling his oats. My bulls have always been the worst between age 1 and 2 years, after 2 years of age they start to mellow out.

He's sure a cutie!
