Here's a interesting thought. My dog, who is 5, came from a back yard breeder who basically kept him in a shower stall his entire life up to 4 months of age. I nabbed him because my brothers wife had his sister and she was oh so cute!

His FULL sister, same litter, same mom, looked like a min pin. She was taller than most min's but still 100% looking like a min. Sim comes out like a fat sausage...lol I should of called him Jimmy dean.

This is what my small brown puppy grew up to be:

Hafe Brother.
oh and he's my energizer bunny on crack. When he's not sleeping and lazing around while I do my work, Me and him are hiking 20 miles a week. We went on a 20mile mountain trail and it just about killed us humans....Sim was just a chugging along!

I was thinking choc. lab too. We had a mutt one time "Lil Pooch" He was so ugly that he was cute. He was lab, chow, and basset hound. Had the lab body and head, basset legs, and chow tail. His sis from same litter looked like a very tall min pin. Different daddys!

I don't see the Pitty in him at all IMO.

They ears are mor like a Labs ears. The one ear does seem to fold back, but a lot of breeds can do that.
He doesn't have the jaw or muzzle structure of a Pit either.

He looks roughly around the size of a Pitty, but they all tend to very in size.

IMO he looks like a Lab X Beagle. The light brown highlights is what kinda throws me.

do you have any pics of him standing from the side ? its hard to tell from these. his face reminds me of an english cocker spaniel.

you could always do genetic testing on him !!

Hey again,

sorry for not talking in a while.

Sim weighs about 35-40lbs. He gains and losses weight faster than any other dog i know. If one day he lays in bed, He gains 2lbs. if the next he is running with me, He's pychically LOOKS thinner. He's just a really weird dog.

And he has a lot of the typical pittie problems. Territory over their one owner, mind just can snapp. I use to be a person that didn't believe pitties were different from any other dog. But after owning sim, and fostering a few pits, I notice that pits just are the kind of dogs who have been bred for strength, too obey and protect. It's in them and their is nothing you can do other than strong training that can help their mind frame.

He also talks, can't howl, and is very vocal. He wants to please, a simple good boy will do, and is the smartest damn dog ever.

I really think he is american pittie, beagle e likes to hunt the rabbits at the barn. Never harms them, just sniffs out their track and will run after it for curiousity reasons. Though..It could be there just never seen him harm an animal, and ?!?!?!? His legs are small and problematic for his body. He is pretty agile and can jump over the ferretgate to get to their food.

I see either chocolate lab or some sort of hound in there. It's very possible that the littermates all share a single mother, and different fathers. My puggle female (a birthday present that turned out to preggers when she was given to me) had a litter of puppies that could not have looked more different from each other - it's hard to believe they are litter mates!

Babygirl (female)
Dog Mammal Vertebrate Dog breed Canidae

Trouble (male)
Dog Mammal Vertebrate Dog breed Canidae

Rusty (Female)
Dog Mammal Vertebrate Dog breed Canidae

My personal favorite - Tuffy (male)

Out of a litter of seven, we still have two left - not many takers around here and Rusty and Tuffy still need homes!

I didnt expect to be bombarded with so much puppy cuteness on this thread! LOL! The first pic...he isnt big enough, but he looks rot/choc lab mix... but he probably is a mutt mixed with a mutt. We call those Heinz 57 around these parts, lol.... The way you talked about him being very vocal makes me think he has husky in him of some kind (very talkative), but the fact that he doesnt howl, makes me saw no hound dog mixed in there.
But ioconner (hope I got ur name right!-btw this will be confusing) we have a female husky/shepard mix who accidently got out of the house when in heat and was bred by my mom's white shepard/malamute mix....well she ended having six puppies, but we started noticing something about the puppies...about 3 of them looked like shep/husky of some kind, but the other 4 started looking rather familiar also....Here she was bred by my little brothers dog, which is a beagle/basset mix! So These puppies were marked like a husky and has long basset hound bodies, lol! Big head little arms!

Just call him a cur. I own hounds and their voice doesn't define them. I have had many hounds that bark like house dogs. Although most do have a bawl it's not always a dominate trait. I think you have a Plott mix. Plotts have some square features like a pitt and you can't wear a hound out at walking speeds. They are bred to walk/run. Am I the only one who noticed that any time someone doesn't know a dogs breed it's always a lab mix.

Thats b/c labs are a VERY popular breed, and I wouldnt be surprised to see someone's lab running around in heat than, lets say.... a Burmese Mountain Dog... usually a rarer dog, more expensive dog will be kept an eye on to prevent a cross breed. I live in WV (so lots of hunting here) and I worked at a groomer shop for four years I a Plott or a Curr had never came in the shop, and to tell you the truth, I wouldnt even be able to tell you what either look like:lol: (altho Im googling it in a sec, haha!! Black and Tans, Redbones, yeah...

But I should have known about a hound not always "bawling" , and I should have! The little beagle/basset that I was talking about never howls!

Thats b/c labs are so popular that its usually mixed with a lab, lol...Its just more likely that a lab is running around breeding dogs than (randomly picking a breed) Newfoundland... But I should have known not all hound mixes howl, lol... the little basset/beagle I was talking about of my moms never howls!

I don't see it the Cur either.

Usually Curs are red, yellow, fawn, buckskin, or brindle. They also have a black muzzle (Part of how they got their name.)

If you think your dog could have Cur in him, open his mouth and see. Black Mouth Curs also got their name because they have black pigemts around their lips that then continue into their mouth.

Curs can look like anything. That's why they're curs. They're muts and all originated as muts. Although certain strains have been bred like black mouth curs or mountain curs or stephens curs. I have curs in my kennels. Whoever said they never had a cur or plott come into their grooming facility, duh. These creatures are low maintanence and most people who hunt with their dogs don't usually waste a bunch of money on unneeded "care". :)
