Lord have mercy we are wet around here. We have had rain, flash floods, major flooding for the last three weeks and it hasn't stopped yet! I have had flash flooding all through my coops as well. One coop flooded and the electrical outlet was submerged. Thank goodness it was on a GFCI breaker. Now, until I can have the wires checked out....no electricity.

The flooding was a real problem. Now the runs are slimy mud and it stinks! Luckily, the birds stayed on the roosts.

I have had some bad luck with my recent pullet purchases. It looks like I still ended up with 50% roos. One in my favorite lap bird. The minute I walk in the coop and sit down, he flies across the coop to lay in my lap for a nap. It would be so nice to find a home with someone who wants a pet. Sigh.

Someone sent me this link to a chicken video that describes me completely. I bet it describes some of you all, too.

Actually, she was quite happy. As you can see, she is playing in the puddle. I couldn't keep her out of them. Sigh!!

Omg Allison, she is gorgeous! And hilarious to boot!

Sadly the only two girls I've got left are my little EE Willow and my Silkie, Foxy. They're best buddies now and Willow is all up in Foxy's business no matter where she is hehe. It's cute to watch. Willow also likes to take rides in my shirt while I'm at the barn. Keeps her warm and I love to hear her peeping while I muck out the boys' paddock.

Oh my. I love her. If she goes missing, definitely don't look in NH...

Just got quite a shock when I went to check the chicks before leaving for the barn-little chickens and big chickens were all hanging out together! As best I can tell, babies were liberated via hole under fence by their big sisters. Everyone seems fine with no scrapes or missing feathers. I'm sad I missed the introductions, but I love my big girls even more now knowing they were apparently pretty gentle with the babies.
