I went into the pullet coop and found my last two purebred ameracauna pullets dead. A raccoon evidently got into my fort knox coop. A friend and I found a possible spot where it might have gotten in and plugged it. I trapped and killed two large male raccoons and the last two nights the traps have been empty. I don't believe I have gotten them all, but will keep trying.
SO, I have lost my French Black Copper Moran pullet....no dark brown eggs
and I lost my purebred Ameracauna pullets.....so no GOOD blue eggs. I'll just have the aqua egg from one of my easter eggers. I have had no luck with my chick/future layers. Two have died of unknown causes, two from raccoons, three are likely roos. Out of ten chicks I have raised, I will have just light brown layers.
So much for adding to my color pallet.
