Allison, what about hatching? Are you allowed to do that or will it affect the flock status? And do you have to have each chick certified as well once they hatch? Or are they automatically included?
You can't even bring eggs in from a non NPIP certified source. All eggs must come from a NPIP certified farm.
You get tested every year, but later tests are just a random selection of some of the birds. The first time, all are tested.
I've been looking at Craigslist and see that many of the sale birds are already from NPIP farms, as well as hatching eggs.
