That looks to be a Cochin roo. Cochin chicks aren't as fluffy as their parents, and they mature very slowly. Betting he's a Cochin and not a Brahma.

A couple not so good pictures(I need a new SD card for my camera) of my little girls, Foxy(Silkie) and Willow(EE). They've started becoming more adventurous and are now scavenging the horse paddocks. They sometimes follow me around while I clean the boys' paddock and attack each other for the horse's feed in the next paddock over. They're so goofy.

Well if we're all sharing...my husband had just washed his truck, and the babies were enthralled with looking at their reflections in the "mirror"

We finally moved the chicks to the outdoor pen! They have grown so much since I got them. I've found that my Barred Rocks and Ameraucana have very quirky personalities :)
And I attached a picture of my Rooster :) Not sure what he is.. a mixture of something... But I think he's quite a stunning roo. He doesn't like men all that much.. and always tries to sneak his way into the our house! :)

First 5 are some of my Ameraucanas, the one of my barred rocks, then one of our broiler hens, Her name is Lola and my mom has claimed her as pet.. then some pics of my Buff Orpingtons then my Roo whose named Chanticleer

Very handsome flock, Evansk. Yep, that roo of yours is pretty obviously a combination, but he's quite stunning.

My Buff Orp roo's name is Buford. The young lady who got him as a chick thought he was a hen and named him Buffy, so I figured I'd just adjust the name and call him Buford.

I have no idea why my Cochin roo is named Moon. I got him from a friend earlier this year, and since he's going on 3 y/o I don't want to change it now.

Evansk, just out of curiosity because I'm constantly trying to find the best surface for my pen- how did you decide on putting straw down? How often do you have to change it so it doesn't get wet/smelly? Does it cover the whole pen or just a particular part of it?
