Picture of calves

I would love to see pictures of your calves, whether dairy or beef. I was raised milking cows, and then we got into some beef cows as well. So, name and breed.

This is Casey. She was born in 2011 and will be freshening this year. This picture is from when she was just calf. She is half Jersey and half 'who knows what'. She is bred Jersey and will hopefully have a heifer.

We have Angus beef cattle. Most of our herd is all black but there are a few who are baldies. Our calves are already sold except for one little bull calf who is really tiny size wise (he's the one with the bald face).

So she isn't calf but she is my cow. Her name is Angel and she always has a bald faced calf with an eye patch.

Your calf is adorable! I love little Jersey calves!

My favorite beef breeding is those black brockle faced calves! They sell pretty high no matter what the 'favorite' breed of the buyers is at the time. They know that the Angus/Herford is a good cross. When we had beef cows, we had mainly black angus.

Here is a Inky a dexter heifer

And the only cow that I own right now, Latte, a Tarentaise cross.
As a calf...

And I can't seem to get one uploaded of her as a cow... Anyways, she's just red. Hoping that she has a heifer in the spring! It'll be half Jersey.

They are so adorable! I love red cattle. Angel is supposed to red but I swear she looks orange! She is actually part Angus and I think part Holstein (we used to have a Holstein bull). She is 16 this year. Here are a couple more of our most recent calves.

That one's not very good but you can Angel's face and that's her 2012 calf.

I don't think I have any pictures of our current cattle (four purebred Charolei heifers) but here are some in the past.

Jaoka, miniature steer calf. 10 months old in photo.

Sunshine, charolei x brahama, 2 months.

Bentley and Bodacious, twin bull calves.

Bentley, when we first got him.

All grown up and very sleek! Bentley

Bodacious

Jaoka and Charlie again- both miniatures.

Brandi- not sure what she was... Jersey x something? 9 months

Charlie, Fresh from auction ;)

Brandi looks like a Simmental cross... We did the taking dairy bull calves (they gave them to us) and bottle feeding them one year. It was fun! I find that the dairy calves look much better if they are raised on a nurse cow. A lot less of the potbelly look, especially in the Jersey crosses. Casey (the first one I posted), was bottle fed until we had another cow freshen and then we grafted her on.

We have Angus and I borrowed a Hereford bull so we are expecting Angus X Hereford calves this Spring. The cows are off elsewhere on Winter pasture, I have the bull and George an Angus X Hereford steer here right now. George is a little escape artist and I have "George-proof" fencing!!

These are pictures of my pure Angus 3 year old cow, Mabel, and her pure Angus heifer calf, Mocha. The 3rd cow on the left in the 3rd picture is my brother's.
