Reindeer and Horses?

I am building a barn at my parents house and my father wants to buy another animal to go alone with Ceilidh. We were suggesting animals that they could get to put in the pasture with her and my dad wanted to look at getting a reindeer. We live on the east coast of Canada so we do have the weather for them but my only worry is that they wouldn't get along. I have heard that deer and horses do not belong together but what about reindeer? Ceilidh is now at a barn with 4 other horses and she gets along very well with them!

Any other animals that you guys have in with your horse(s) ?

Goats and sheep do well with horses. Also mini's or ponies also do very well with them and don't take as much feed.

That is what we were considering if the reindeer didn't work. I am trying to convince them to buy their own horse but that might take a little more convincing

I would not even think of putting any type of "deer" with antlers in with a horse..but if we're talking does without antlers (I'm not familiar with female reindeer, I apologize), I guess it would be considerable.
Goats, sheep, llamas, alpacas, mini's, ponies, etc will all do well, generally. Or even another "easy keeper" horse :p

I live in a family where we eat meat and love fresh product, but couldn`t ever have an animal live with us and then later eat it. We are looking for a pet/family member.

I also, live in Cape Breton. The wild life park has reindeer I'm pretty sure. And I think I have seen them around the Island or Province. Maybe they have them at Christmas Island .

Really?! I'd love to see one! I wonder would the Wild Life Park sell you one? That would be pretty cool, you can be like.. Yeah I have a reindeer! LOL
