Anybody?

If you don't, can you say why you choose not to?
Lack of appropriate supplements?
Hadn't thought about it? :)

I recently started adding livestock supplements to my store and was just wondering if anybody gives any and why.
I don't have my own land, so don't have livestock of my own at the moment.
Hoping that on down the road I can get my son into 4-H and let him do some livestock showing. Would definately use some of the dac stuff for them!!

Ok, i raise goats; on Orchard grass hay, Purina goat chow; and the occasional (we dont have any right now, lol) grass. For supplements i use Dumor Goat blocks, they eat them like candy, also a salt block (they dont like those lol). I cant afford it when it runs out so like monthly, and its minerals for... whatever use. lol, good luck!

My hogs don't get any supplements.
They get the show pig food, Southern States brand. They don't like that as much as corn and cucumbers they get though.

The most popular supplements that are added to the diet is something that will help add bloom and keep animals "fresh" looking. In Oklahoma and Texas, the most common types of show feeds are: Moormans, ShowRite, Sunglo, Suthers, and Acco. (Ranked in decreasing order).

Calf Manna is really popular among all types of livestock. Horses, calves, and hogs are some really good speicies to focus on to market this product. Since sheep have a low tolerance for cooper, enhence they can die from very small toxic amounts, it is hard to pin point something that would help them.

Keeping electrolytes and milk replacer on hand will also be a big seller.

Thanks everyone.
I don't know a lot about the individual things like the copper in the sheep.....I love researching so this will be my next project.

I am currently looking into the "Big Boys" who are using the products. I found a cool one....Cooper Smith shows pigs and uses dac and he has hooked up with Terry Bradshaw, the football player, and they have Pigs For Jesus Foundation.
Terry Bradshaw also has Quarter horses and his trainer, Ted Turner, uses dac.
