Storing Round Bales

The hay guy came to the farm this week and cut hay. He is doing round bales this time and square bales for second cutting. I didn't plan on taking any round bales because I don't have anyway to move them. But I took my husband out today and we found that we could roll them around fairly easily. So I'm thinking about taking some. Can I store them outside? Do I need to cover them?

If stored outside they should be covered, yes. It is also advisable to use pallets or something similar to raise the bale off the ground as the hay will draw moisture from the ground.
