Breeding my Walker Mare Hello all. This is gonna be long.
I am thinking about breeding my Tennessee Walking Horse mare and I am trying to get some potential studs together. Atty has good conformation, a good disposition, good bloodlines, a very nice gait, and she loves being in the show ring. She's a hard worker and basically she's just an amazing horse. She's a little high strung right now because she hadn't been worked in two years(not my choice) until about three months ago.
In the stud I would like good bloodlines, conformation, and a good disposition. I want a horse that has a good gait naturally, not from soring or anything. Color is debatable. I would like to try and get a black foal. I think black horses catch eyes more from my experience.
I know that was long, and now that I've written it out I don't know if I'll ever find a stud with all that! But if I can find a stud with most of that (good gait is a must), then I will be pleased.
I attached a picture so you can see at least part of the conformation.
P.S. - We aren't going to breed her for a while, the approximate foaling date has to be carefully planned so that we can continue showing Atty. And possibly even the foal in halter classes. |
