Excited!

So next week I'm going out to ride a few of my friends gaited horses and I have never rode a gaited horse. I'm super excited to get back in the saddle thou. I own a thoroughbred but I have back problems and my back always ends up aching and hurting after a ride so I have stopped riding for now. I have heard that gaited horses are rather smooth, is this true? From seeing videos they do seem smooth. I just want to see how my back feels after the ride!

They are smoother then a normal horse. The thing is each breed has a bit different gaited action. That means one might feel good to your back while another will aggravate it. Might have to try several different breeds to find one that matches your back.
