Coal, LaCrem Knight In shining Armor. Coal is a registered Missouri Fox Trotter but is only 13.2 hands tall. He also has the honor of being registered #1 in the Missouri Fox Trotting Pony registry. Coal is a 10 year old stallion.
Hunny the 5 year old fox trotter! We have to work on her foxtrot because I have a hunch that the people that owned her where she was born tried to push her out of her foxtrot...so we get to start back at the basics and foxtrot until she really really REALLY gets it which is fine with me because it is so dang comfortable to ride!
p.s. does anybody know if I could register her even though I can't track down her parents and the breeder where she was born refuses to contact me back? Could I register her with positive DNA testing? I contacted MFTHBA and still no answer...
Thanks Wallee! Last year was my first ever year of showing, it being Sables as well we had a bit of nerves but we placed Reserve Champ in Model, Champion in Halter and under saddle we were typically coming in 3rd in Trail Pleasure classes.
I was told by one of the judges that came up from the US (Rick Wies) that Sable was an exceptional filly, but my experience in the ring is why we were placing where we did. This year I am hoping for better results and less nerves lol!
I think we are going to start the year in Country Pleasure and see where that places us. Do you show?

Actually I will be starting in showing this year! I have never showed and this year it sparked my interest to try. I have been training horses for 7 years and pretty much have just been starting colts and helping people with bad habits so to help get my name out I am going to try to enter the shows! What all classes have you shown in before?
That's exciting!
The first show we kept it light as far as pressure classes and we went in Model, Halter, Junior horse English and Western and Novice Rider English and Western.
From them on I was in Junior Horse Trail Pleasure (English and Western), Trail Pleasure (again English and Western), and 2 & 3 year olds English and Western.
I like to keep it light at the shows so they dont get too tired and bored and lose the animation.
Thats great! I want to show in western mostly myself but I will dwell into english I am sure. I have never riden english before though ha ha so dont know to much about it.
I show in a dressage saddle rather than a Cutback as I too dont often ride english. It is much easier to adjust to it on a walker than a trotting horse thats for sure!! I have worked my way up to cantering in the english over the winter lol
If we weren't going for whole weekends I would just show western as Sable is more of a western horse, but we're there and so I may as well!

I live just a few miles from the MFTHBA headquarters, I do no think that you can register her without knowing who her parents are and having a breeders certificate. They have to be DNA'd to be registered, but you would have to know who her parents are to match her up with.
