Wow. Everyone's horses are so beautiful... and special. Let me throw my guy into the mix. My favorite picture of him is the avatar, but are are a few others, taken on trail rides near my home.

Oh my goodness can I come live with you? Your scenery is gorgeous! We have only cottonwoods here..well where there are trees. The only good places to ride in the state are the badlands and the killdeer mountains :/ and that is only seasonally open because the terrain is so rough :(

Imagaitin, that is one beautiful horse, plus he looks to be a sweetie!

Where are you located? The scenery is beautiful, you can see he enjoys looking at it too.

Thank you so much for the kind replies.

I live in the Four Corners area. To the north and east of us are the La Plata/San Juan /Weminuche Mountains, to the west of us is rolling hills in the Mesa Verde area, to the south is New Mexico, so we can find a variety of trails. Fall in the mountains here are pretty special with all the color.

And yes, like most gaited horses, my guy is a sweetie, which is what I need. I had ridden (never owned) all my life on well trained horses, and when I got my own which was not, I realized how much I didn't know. But he is very willing and patient with me, and we are making great strides! I love just spending time with him.

Aren't our trail buddies a joy and a blessing?

Wallee -
I was thinking the same thing!! We should get these two together! (Although keeping in mind, "River" is a gelding )

We have a big Cowboy Parade here in the Fall. I have quite a few friends with Spotted Horses. We have been thinking about entering the parade... all of us with horses of color. Even a few spotted Icys. I think that would be great fun.
