Just get on and ride, ride, ride! Up hills and soft sandy areas are great workouts for horse.
He is a beauty... let everyone know how he is doing...

Peruvian and Peruvain Paso is the same thing.
She's right.

Here's the breed history from the North American Peruvian Horse Association. They talk extensively about the relationship between the Peruvian Horse and the Paso Fino. I'm pretty sure if the Peruvian Paso was a separate breed, they would have mentioned it.

It is my understanding they are trying to drop the word paso because people get it confused with the paso fino. So they are just trying to make it easy for those who don't know the difference.

Green Broke
Get rid of that grain. Fatty does not need it, let him eat his hay and his own body fat for a bit. Grain is not necessary at all in a horses diet, and being that fat could be unhealthy for him.

Along with cutting out grain, ride his butt off.(literally)

Green Broke
Beautiful horse!! I agree with not needing grain, I would just feed some good grass hay.

And if grain is an issue...with him being in with other horses or trying to steal grain from the others...give him a low% pellet all his own. All he would need in a handful, really just a human handful! Just to keep him busy, put it in a large (as in around not deep) feed bucket so he kinda has to chase the pellets around. I have to do that with my Draft mare. It works...trust me, she looks like she has never missed a meal. I had to tone her up after I bought her. She was WAY over weight!

Pasos are a hot-blooded breed and can be tough. It sounds like your aunt bit off more than she could chew.
