But it's not any diagonal movement? :P And he diesn't trot.. the only trot he knows for the moment is ''racing trot'' and it takes some convincing to get that x) At least this doesn't feel like trot at all :P
Is power walk a gait or are you just making it up? X)
Ok, watching youtube, it's not corto. Can it be flat walk? It looks like it, I tried to freeze the films and match with the photos. (I don't see him doing it since I'm sitting on him and I can't see if he's doing ''it'' when someone else ride xD Maybe I can try taking a video..)
Is flat walk concidered a gait, or just a walk some horses have instead or normal walk?
I know he's not fast when he does it, but it's faster thn regular walk and feels diferent, on the youtube films it looks like flatwalk is just a weird walk that would feel pretty much like walk rather than a more active gait.. but I can very well be wrong xD
I figured I could just as well show this too, but his gait isn't really at its best at any place, even if I of course understand that you can only judge what you see. (And since I got a comment on it before; I know the ''canter-rack'' is jut a bad, 4 beat canter, but it's rapidly geting better and I feel it's better to work him when he's already calm, than rush him into a gallop and try to calm him down in that without breaking off to a rushed trot or pace.. his bigest problem is trying too much and getting stressed out ;)
It sounds like to me that its the running walk. I have a TWH and he does it...sounds like the same thing to me. Only difference I can tell between that and any other horse walk is that it is much faster and super smooth. It is a real gate. I have done lots of reading about TWH's on the net and its my understanding that they were bred for that running walk because farmers had to cross lots of acreage daily and needed a horse that could do it quickly and for greater lengths of time.
