Thumbs up Tango Update!

I posted about a month ago about my new 3 year old TWH. I've been working like CRAZY with her, and she is a completely different horse! She's gone from AWFUL ground manners[due to her last owner letting her get away with everything and not correcting her] to being perfectly behaved...she no longer drags me but walks beside me, she now stands completely still instead of just doing constant circles around me..and our biggest accomplishment: She no longer rears, weaves, paws, or tries to bolt in cross ties! (see video below). I can't believe how much improvement there has been in the last few months!! Also included are some more pictures (credit to my friend Adriana). One bonus picture is of the barn owner on her after a class before I bought her. Now all I am working on is getting her to gait a little better...she breaks in and out of gait and paces, but I've been told that is probably due to her age and that she doesn't have the proper muscles built up yet (not sure if that is correct). But I am doing my best to learn everything I can and will take any bit of advice!

Thanks! Here is one more video- this is a new sport called "CAT WRANGLIN'"...where you methodically herd UN-suspecting barn cats into the grooming area ;) Tango had a blast!

You are right but gaiting takes two things. One is building muscle, the other is keeping her in gait so she knows what you expect out of her.

Yearling
Awesome! She is quite a looker:) You have been told correctly, she is still a youngster and it takes time to build up those gaiting muscles. When I was working on building my gelding up we did a lot of gaiting, but also a lot of walking as it builds a lot of those same muscles. Keep up the good work!
