Yearling
Thanks everyone for all the advice. At this point I think either one of them would make me happy. The only thing I'm afraid of is that since I won't be able to go see them until next weekend, one or more of them may be gone! If one is gone, my choice may be made for me! LOL The gelding does seem a little "forward" but on the other hand, I have never owned a mare.... And when you get right down to it, personality and gait is what is going to decide this. This will be my last horse. I want to be totally happy with whichever horse I get. Money is always important but I have yet to see a coffin lined in it. What is REALLY important is my happiness with the horse. I'm headed out for my riding lesson (Jim insists that I prove that I won't be dealing with PTSD before we go horse looking) so I'm going to talk about these horses with my friend/instructor.

I'm pretty crazy about my SSH/TWH mare. Maybe I'm just lucky buy she's always been good for me.

I'm going to go up and see the gelding (Jet) on Saturday if I can get there while the owner is home. We'll start way early. It's a 5 hour drive!

I don't like the way the 1st one uses his hind end. It looks like he could have been a big lick horse. He was kind of a mess.

Thats to bad he sold before you could go look. Hope you find another one. Have you looked at Peruvian Paso horses? Shorter than the TWH.
I am with you, I prefer safe and slow for my old bones . Don't want another broken anything, and don't want to be having to be on gaurd training a young horse.

I'm sorry the roan is sold

If you were willing to drive 5+ hours to see him --- how far are you from Middle Tennessee? As in 60 miles SE of Nashville.

I know these folks - they live on the other end of the county from me.

I know they are honest and ethical. I know they do their d**ndest to match a horse to a person and have been known to by a horse back, more than once, if things just didn't work out.

They once sold a Spotted TWH to Cheryl Crow<---the singer

They are not cheap - lol lol lol But they do not cover up, shuck n jive, or otherwise try to hood wink anyone in a horse sale.

Yes, agreed. I've done business with David and Lisa before myself, bought my Tennessan saddle from them.

They train some very nice horses. No big lick, no training aids.

Great folks IMO and I'd recommend them too.
