That awkward moment when you're giving a Nature Program to a school group, and you're talking about how nice and harmless garter snakes are, they have no fangs/venom, etc... So no need to feel afraid or try to hurt it-they're all a part of nature. Then a kid's hand shoots up, and he's dying to share something. You call on him, and he says, "My dad hates all snakes, and if he ever sees them he goes right to the garage to get a shovel and chops their head off!!" Dad is sitting in the back with the other teachers and parents, red-cheeked and wanting to slither under the chair!
