Frustrating!! I either kept losing my stirrups or my horse would do the exact ooposite if what I asked. He just refused to canter during the whole ride though I did manage to get one really nice long canter right at the end of my ride.
Grounding - Because she broke her stall door and I spent my time fixing it. And on the ground working her through the stall door way until I had a calm nice relaxed passage through from her. Ground ground ground.
I so love being able to ride even on rainy days, the indoor is great. But having a saddle you don't mind getting wet is also a plus. Super fun day had a couple of nice smiling faces also in the ring. Started in a rope halter and a progress string for a rein, then bridel-less with the neck rope only. Canter good with less shoulder drop to the inside of the turns toward the gate, now she knows what inside leg means and respects it. Rode inside and out through the gate which used to be a excited bolt area, with calm speed or stop and even some sideways work. Found a good note to stop on, let her eat some grass in the light rain and cool off.
I currently am not riding, more ground work needs to be put on the pony. So that one, she stops, 2 if she doesn't stop she doesn't buck me off, and 3 if she bucks me off she doesn't trot down the road and go visit my uncle.
