Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron

So, for those of you who remember that movie, you'll know that it's fantastically animated, but so, so inaccurate-a fact I only realized after I started riding horses.

Let's make a game of it: everyone say one thing about the movie you noticed that is totally out of character for a real horse, and I'll go first.

Well, there's a lot, but I'll first point out that realistically it would be a quiet older mare (Spirit's mother, I'm assuming) who would be leading the herd, and not a young, cocky, inexperienced stallion.

Next?

The fact that he climbed up a sheer rock face like a mountain goat. Mustangs are sure footed, but not that agile.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/

-Or- that crazy jump!! When he jumped the canyon? I remember when I was little I asked my mom if horses could really do that. She said only some horses could. I asked if a horse like Arthur (my horse) could. She told me that breed was very good at canyon jumping :p

The mustangs talk to each other vocally instead of with body language

The fact that he just one day decided that it was okay for this one human to ride him after the fiasco in the fort corrals.

^^ Haha I never noticed that before!!!!!!!!

I would say...

He would've just taken off even with the corral there. It wouldn't of stopped him

In one scene, Rain has a cheekbone and in the next, the underline of her head is a straight line
