*Big* surprise planned for birthday

Alright here it goes but shhhhh....

So I have this huge birthday surprise planned for my mom. The most incredible women I know. She constantly deals with chronic pain and some serious eventually fatal health problems. She is a mother who is 110% dedication to her family and her grandkids. She never complains about anything. She does nothing for herself, EVER.

So this year for her birthday (december 21st), I have decided to get a birthday present, a surprise she won't forget.

I just booked her and I a week in Disneyland January 6th-14th.

She has no idea whatsoever. Not only that but I think every year, she has probably been a little ripped off because her birthday is just so close to christmas I just started working on a scrapbook of pictures of old trips of her and I there. I want to make it end with her the news that she is going to be heading out on a trip 2 weeks later. I cannot wait.

So what do you think about this? Any other ideas you think I could use to break her the news? Let me know! all ideas welcomed!

Thanks for reading

What a fabulous idea! My mother, who took my brother and me as kids, still says it's "the most magical place on earth."

Thank you very much! I'm pretty excited to break her the news. Going to be an absolutely incredible girl's trip out there. I am still open to ideas as to how to let her know as to what is going to happen.

Still hoping trying to look into the best way to let her know she's heading out. Any ideas you guys might get, let me know

I actually think that the scrapbook is an AWESOME idea!!!!!! Very creative.

I think if it were me, I'd do like a vacation time line, first trip to the most recent, then maybe for the page telling your mom about the trip you have planned for her, I'd maybe do like a pocket, or something like that, that would hold your actual plan tickets, or your tickets of some sorts.

OOOOOOOOOOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have you seen those Disney commercials where the people find the invitations where they're least expecting it? Like the one kid finds it in his desk at school, I think a person finds it in a menu? It's the invitations to spend a day on your birthday or what ever. I would totally try to make that invitation!

Or do you have a Micky Mouse shaped balloon? You could do something like this:

You could add just an ordinary photo of your favorite spot in Disney, and then add the words "Vacation 2009" to the last page of your scrapbook; when your mom turns and looks at you funny, you could pull out that balloon with the invitation attached, or the plane tickets or whatever.

OMG ... What a great idea!!

You and your mom both are so lucky to have eachother! I cant wait to hear out it turns out.

Great idea! I'm sure she's very surprised.

I love the scrap book idea! Maybe at the end of it put the plane tickets for your up coming trip!

That's a wonderful idea! Mothers truly are amazing people!

You guys are geniuses! I am going to go see what I can find for Disney Balloon. The scrapbook is well underway. I ended up doing the last pages of it last night got to print off the pictures I was planning to put in the middle hehe.

I"ll make a short video of the scrapbook maybe over the weekend and show you what I have done.

The tickets idea was genius! going to print them right now! thanks ladies for all the great advice, as always
