I always roll eyes when people say "friends on Facebook". Facebook "friend" doesn't necessarily means a real "friend" (in an ol true meaning of this word). If you don't like her posts then just get rid of her ("unfriend" her). What is the problem here?

Just ignore it. If you feel that you dont want to offend this person by deleting them, there is a way to block anything they post. I've done that with a few people who insist on telling the world when they eat, go to bed, use the toilet... you know the ones.

Facebook is what you make of it. Ignore the crap, use it to what you want it to be. I use it alot of keep in touch with everybody back home. I dont like to use it for people who live close to me/in laws. At the end of the day, because you didnt "like" the save the puppies page - it doesnt make any difference at all. The big bad person isnt going to suddenly stop what they are doing because of facebook.

Stop for a minute, open your mind, learn. You may not agree with what I say, I may not agree with what you say but we will both learn something new.

I have found facebook very handy in finding old friends, and family members that I have lost touch with. It does get old when people constantly post those animal abuse photos, or those burned/abused baby photos..the same people always do it, like its actually gonna make a difference. I either ignore them or just hide their feeds. easy peasy..If someone actually wants to bit*h at me for "breaking the chain" I would give them earful and then delete them.. simple as that.

The worst FB offenders IMO are those that inssesantly gripe about how crappy their lives are- yet they *won't* do anything to fix their situation.. I delete these people (some good friends fell into this category) without notice..I do not have time for that crap. *not to say some arent just having a bad day.. I have my complain days, everyone is entitled to that- but when its every stinking status??...or you are constantly airing dirty laundry..*

For a while I got emails to that effect, how I'd be responsible if I didn't pass them along. These emails were just copies of this crap someone had sent to her and she'd passed along. I told her not to bother as I no longer open third party emails as they could contain a virus that gets passed along. Does anyone know how to delete pics sent by someone else to my FB sight? Nothing offensive, just clutter.

If you are new to facebook, then you won't be like us seasoned users who have learned to ignore the like and share request. Different personalities get suckered in to that. I'm not one of them. It's a repost from a million other people so don't take it personally.

She will not reach through the silly computer and strangle you if you "un-friend" her. I don't have time nor the desire for FB, but I could imagine a young person getting very caught up in some of the drama I've heard of. Un-friend her, take a deep breath, smile, and get your life back. And remember this little quote if you ever feel guilty doing so - "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent" - Eleanor Roosevelt.

Maybe I'm hyper-sensitive to it because I was once in a (unwanted) "relationship", if it could even be called that since it was entirely one-sided, with a guy I wanted nothing to do with, who was practically a stalker and who tried to control me to the nth degree. But my mother liked him because he knew how to turn on the charm around her, so she kept having him come around. *Shudder*

But that was years ago, and thankfully that is long over. What got me going now is that I'm friends with someone on Facebook who, nearly every day, posts things that she wants all of her friends to share and pass on- like stuff about animal abuse or other such things. Nothing wrong with that, of course, but she pushes all the guilt buttons if you don't do her bidding: if you don't share, you have no heart. If you don't share, you're not human. If you don't share, you care about nothing...and on and on.

Frankly, I don't like someone telling me what to pass along to others or to post on my own page. I tried it once, and got no response anyway. This seems like an attempt at control to me. I'd never dream of telling anyone else what they "should" do like that!

Yes, I know I could "unfriend" her or stop following her posts, but that would seem mean. Although I'm a little bit tempted....nah. As long as I can vent about it, I'm ok.
....she does understand liking and sharing post doesn't actually benefit the causes right? I mean all they really do nothing but raise awareness, and let's face it everyone knows about animal abuse. So unless she's promoting little-known causes she wasting her time.

I unfriended a passionate anti-abortionast because that is all she would use FB for. I respect her a opinion even though I'm pro-choice, but she just did nothing else so I felt no need to have her in my friend list. I also made it so I would only get important updates from one person because she would share so many pictures it would clog up my newsfeed. I didn't feel mean at all for doing it as not something I have to put up with.
