*sigh* I am ready for that vacation. :/

Good gods the last two weeks have been rough.

It started off with a random flat at work. Fortunately it didn't happen on the road, and I was able to have Boyfriend come put on the spare for me since I didn't want to mess it up and hadn't done it before. (Having watched, I am now confident that I could do it myself if I really had to though, which feels great!) Of course the spare needed air, but it looked driveable on at least to get to the gas station if I was careful. I got it to the closest gas station, went in to ask for the air on, and the guy says that it's broken... Really?! Ugh. Decide to chance the gas station directly across the street. If you can even believe it, their air compressor was out of order too!!! ARGH. Called AAA, they were able to get some air in my spare and I had a functional, if gimpy, tire at least.

That night, I checked with my parents for recommendations and decided to go to Sam's Club for two new tires. Checked on their mobile site and it said that the hours were 10am-8:30pm. Great! Plenty of time to get over there after work. Picked up my mom's club card the next day after work and headed over. Hours on mobile were wrong and I got there about 10 minutes before they closed at 7, and they turned me away. Fine, whatever. Not their fault, so no point in getting mad. They told me to come back the next day and to make sure that I arrived at least 30 minutes to close. Come back the next day at 5:50. Lady at the front desk turns me away because they have one customer ahead of me that they're finishing up with, and only one guy in the shop. UGH. I was so mad. Second choice shop is closed, so is pretty much everywhere else, except for Sears. So I call Sears. They are open until 8:30 and will take me. Go to Sears. Spend two hours waiting for them to replace two tires and rotate them to the rear. But hey, they're done, right?

Well, not really. They didn't balance them, which was painfully obvious since I was moving everything that I owned across town over the weekend. Called them back, set up an appointment that next Tuesday to get it fixed.

At this point I've been so exhausted and wasted so much time on moving and tire service that I had to scrap one of my costumes for Anime Expo due to lack of time. Whatever... Just deal.

And then Monday comes along... I get a call from the hospital while I'm at work. My dad had a heart attack in the waiting room while my mom was having scheduled surgery. They were able to stabilize him, and my little brother (just turned 18 on Tuesday) and I were able to visit both of them that afternoon. The doctors decided that a triple bypass was necessary for my dad before they sent him home.

Oh, and along with the general arthritis, I think I joined Fight Club in my sleep because for some ungodly reason my right eye has swollen up. Not TOO terribly, but enough to make me feel like I look derpy and keeping it open all day gives me this annoying little headache.

Now for some good news!!! My tires have been balanced, both parents are recovering well from surgery, well taken care of, and Boyfriend and I are headed to LA tonight for Anime Expo this weekend. FINALLY things have calmed down a bit, and I am SO ready for this. I even decorated an eye patch to look all cool and steampunky so I can throw together an outfit with it to replace the one that I had originally planned on. This three day weekend came at the PERFECT time.

Thanks guys, the support helps a bunch. <3 Unfortunately, things went downhill... AGAIN. I had about a 70% chance of developing some level of photosensitivity over the course of my life due to Lupus, and I think this weekend triggered that. I had a horrid rash all over my body for the last three days. It's finally bearable today/last night since the steroids have kicked in (went to the ER Sunday night for severe stomach pain, wanted to make sure it wasn't something serious since it wasn't going away). So yay, lost out on two days of work. Now we also get to find out just HOW photosensitive I am. At least I'm back to work today and with not many itchy spots left, but depending on the severity I will either be okay in the sun as long as I'm applying sunscreen minimum every two hours, or there's a possibility that I won't be able to do anything other than walk to and from my car during daylight hours. The con was awesome but I am so, SO done.

Dang, sorry to hear that :(

I hear ya about the itching, hope you don't have to stay on steroids for it to stay away!

Well the good news is that I saw my Nephrologist this morning, so now I have two referrals in to the new local Rheumatologist that I'm supposed to be setting up with since I moved from the bay area. My old doctors up there have been absolutely awful about getting me a proper referral so at least we're making progress there.

On the upside, I'm all hopped up on steroids (with a short taper after today, phew) and I just want. To. Clean. EVERYTHING. Which is good timing since I just moved last week! Finally in a positive mood this week... I am lucky to have family, friends and coworkers that are so supportive.
*ETA* And the means for capable doctors!!!
