Yay...it's my 18th birthday! I'm sooo happy :D

I got to spend a good portion of my day with my baby, Sonny....it was close to 80 degrees out  . I rode Sonny for I'd say 15 minutes and after that he was covered in sweat. So I untacked him, walked him around to cool him off for a bit then had one of the girls hold him while I gave him his first bath of the year. At first he was like "OMG cold water" and tried to kick me...but soon he realized that the cold water felt good. Then I put the shampoo in the bucket, with water and got him all lathered up with suds...then washed him out. He smelt sooooo good
Then I put some conditioner on his mane and tail; scrubbed that in good, than washed that out. And the difference conditioner makes for combing haha. It seemed like a miracle...I never thought I could take a fine toothed comb and be able to take ALL of his tail and run it through without catching a knot. :P

Then after that I just groomed him and pampered him all up. I itched his nose (that's his "spot" omg he loves his nose itched), and then cleaned part of his sheath (omg I it was nasty up there...I'm sure he hasn't had it done in a while). I couldn't get too much cause I was just using water...my dad got me some sheath stuff for my birthday he said...but I think he lost it haha for I didn't unwrap that

Then Sonny found a new toy to pass the time with in the stall. On the stalls there's the actual door that you can slide back to make them not escape...but you can leave that open and there's a metal chain that blocks the doorway with robber covering it (so the horses don't get hurt). He LOVES to take his nose, and swing the stall blocker (or whatever the correct name is) back and forth. It was soooo funny to watch. I'm just sooooo thrilled that he has gotten so much better in the stall. It used to be where I couldn't even go in the stall with him for fear that he'd hurt me...but now I can leave him in the stall, and lunge a horse in the arena...hitting the bags at the end of the lunge whip on the ground and he'll just stand there waiting for me to come back or look to see what is going on. But he doesn't panic or anything like he used to.

Then afterwards we cleaned the barm, the aisle was spotless when I left. We rearranged the saddle pads...all the western saddles have a pad underneath, and the English saddle pads are nicely organized in a pile.

And then after I took a quick shower at home, my dad and my sister took me out to dinner at Applebess. Sadly my mom is in California visiting her mom (my grandma) so she wasn't here :(
But anyways....I got some awesomeness stuff

My dad got my half-chaps (sadly they weren't the right size so I couldn't use them for riding today)...got my some new riding boots (again wrong size :( ), my sister got me a horse stuffed animal that looks exactly like Sonny only that the stuffed horse had 4 white socks and Sonny only has 2....then I got an awesome horse training book, horse shampoo/conditioner.

I had fun! It was a great birthday. Best part was hanging out with Sonny...I love doing that

Awesome! Happy birthday! Sounds like you had a good day! I was sick on my 18th birthday back in March... Lol.
