Alaska vs Canada...?

Ok, I haven't done much research, just kicking it around right now. I was looking at cruises and it looks like I could do a 7 day cruise to Alaska for like $500-700 per person, leaving out of either Los Angelos or Vancouver, of course I'd have to buy plane tickets and I haven't priced them yet. I wonder which is cheaper...?

Then I started thinking, couldn't I do a cool Canadian vacation? And would that be cheaper in the long run? What National parks do they have? What's cool to see?

I really want to do YellowStone but I can't afford it... way too much $$$$ so anyway....

Oh, and what would the weather be in May????

Any cool ideas? I want to do it around the second or third week in May.... Alaska and Canada are what I was thinking but I'm open to all suggestions. I've done Disney about 10 or more times. I've done several cruises as well... was thinking something different.... but AFFORDABLE... like something I could start paying on now and be done by paying by trip time...

Help! Please!!!

There are tons of great places to go in Canada. I'm from Alberta so Banff National Park & Jasper are great places to go. The caves in Cadomin are neat (riding up there is awesome!) & Drumheller is also cool because they have the dinosaur museum lol :D
You can try this site Welcome to Canada & it can tell you about some of the cool Canadian destinations.
Alberta has some great riding vacations, but the other provinces have plenty to offer as well.

All I need for Canada is a passport right? Or do I need a Visa?

Ok, I'm in VA so I think Ontario and Quebec might be most affordable. Looking at flights now.

Just a passport. That's all we need to go to the US.
Oh ya, & not sure about that area but around here in the middle of May it's usually pretty "blah" lol. Everything's just about all thawed out & melted but we usually get one last whimpy hit of snow at some point that month ;) It's not very cold though.

ok so I surfed and I could see Niagra falls but then that seems like it, then I saw the Northern Lights, would I have to go to Yukan? Where would I fly into? That's saying I should wait until like September though. So when would I plan a trip for that area? Where do you think I should go? Looks like about $1200 for the three of us to fly out. not that bad then I'd price hotel and car....

You are probably better with the cruise as it includes pretty much everything except spending money, where if you were to go to a park, you would have to pay for hotel, gas, airfare, activities, etc etc.
