    For all of you photographers....

I know there are quite a few of you on here, so I figured I'd ask.

I came across a photo while on today that I know is a manipulation. Its claimed to be a "candid" of a certain two stars together. Well, its not. Its photoshopped. I'll admit, its very good, because at first I said "oh cute!" and then upon looking realized I had seen one half of the photo before, but not with the certain other person!

I'm just wondering what the legal ramifications of this are? It doesn't bear a specific copyright to one person, so maybe this person knew and meant to post this photo manip without claiming it as something he or she particularly owned or had seen in person. Still, I have seen plenty of manipulations on this site that claim to be such, not simply a "candid"....which could potentially be misconstrued and taken for the real thing, which I'm sure would piss off the real photographers of the original photos, were it ever to be broadcast on say, Entertainment Tonight (highly unlikely, but not the point).

So yeah....just wondering if I should report it, or not? I can provide the links, I just don't want to put my fangirly obsessions out there for all to see unless really neccessary, haha.

Is there a "report" feature on Flickr? I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with that host. I'm not sure about ramifications, to be honest.. sorry.

There is a "Report Abuse" link. There is also a specific category for "violating terms of use", and the terms of use do state to not upload any copyrighted content (I don't believe paparazzi photos are copyrighted, unless bought by a media outlet), as well as a "don't upload other peoples content" (as in, someone posts picture a, you save it to your hard drive and then upload it to your account. That's a no-go).

But I do feel compelled to report the photo even if its not expressly covered in the terms of use.

Like, what if you saw a picture of two horses running in a field and thought "oh, what gorgeous horses", and then you realize that one horse is Danny, just added in to a background? Although the person who may have posted that photo might not have been claiming Danny as his own horse, it would still need to be taken down, right? (At least, when he was still yours)
