It always seems that life will last forever...

Sometimes I forget how short life is and how suddenly it can be gone until I turn a corner and come face to face with death. I just got a phone call from my dad and 2 of my older friends passed away yesterday. One of them was not that much of a shock because he was old before I was born but I've know him for so long that it just seemed that he would always be there. Fortunately, he passed quietly in his sleep (he was about 90 years old). The other was a huge shock. He wasn't really a young man but he wasn't really old either. He was 62 and suffered a heart attack late last night. There was no warning and no hope for recovery. I am worried for his wife and what she is going to do now. She only works a part time job that won't pay the bills for the house, utilities, and 5 head of horses they own (same people who own Prissy, the little paint filly that I rode for a while). Please keep the families of both these men in your prayers.

You are right. You never know how much time you have which is why you should you make the most of today. Whilst doing that, you also need to try and cover yourself so if the unthinkable happens, your family have financial help to see them through.

Every now and then fate reminds us that we are not ten foot tall and bullet proof. That we have, infact, a very tenuous hold on this precious, wonderful life we have - so not to waste it.

I hope it works out for his wife and all the lovely horses dependent on her.

I commiserate. That have to be hard to you .

About his wife, I think life will always hold you. Person can have rough times during her life but she can usually go over those times if she's strong enough. Someone find it easier, someone harder but usually you do it some way.

Anyway, my thoughts are with you and every other participant.

Gosh, what a sad reminder :(. *hugs* I'm sorry for your losses. One thing that is possible to be thankful for though is the fact that they were both quick...no lingering illnesses and no prolonged suffering. It's always so much harder for those left behind though when they go fast. I will say a prayer for the families left behind and a special one for the wife of the younger man that everything works out for her.

Sometimes it's so easy to lose sight of the fact that life is so short. I definitely am going to try to not sweat the small things today and just enjoy life. Thank you for the reminder.
