Any tips on how to save a life?

Hey! I guess hunting season is coming up or something cause that's all the males in my house can talk about . Well, I make it my personal mission to stop them . Sooo, anyone got any ideas? Here is what I have so far:
-replace bullets with rocks
-empty suitcases just before they leave
-stuff guns with confetti(would this be a fire hazard, because I don't want to cause harm, just prevent it)
-get rid of those stupid wheat seeds they are planning on planting
-make those turkey/deer calls disapear muahahahaha

Whatcha think? Anything else? Oh and I am not against hunting, I know there is a reason and a place for it in society. I just can't bear the thought of being able to save an animals life but doing nothing. The eyes of the last two deer are permanently burned into my head....... So please don't bash me for this.

Honestly, theres not much you can do. You can't replace bullets with rocks, that's a safety hazard if you could even get a rock into a chamber or mag or shell, which you really can't. Also, you can't replace bullets with confetti, that is a huge no no, and yes it is also a huge fire hazard. The gun probably wouldn't even fire because it needs a bullet. I would just leave them be, plus, deer meat is really healthy for you, and God knows, we have plenty of them around, as well as turkeys.

^^ I mean fill the bullet box with rocks, big ones. And even if I don't succeed, I hav the satisfaction of knowing I tried, right? Idk, I just can't stop thinking about the last time I din't do anything and something happend. *shudders*

I don't hunt and never will, but I would be furious if someone in my house sabotaged my hobby in that way. What if they thought riding was cruel, and sabotaged you?

I think you need to let them do what they want to do. It's their hobby, just like horses are to us. As long as they actually eat it - let 'em have their fun.

I would personally be furious if someone did that. I don't hunt, but I do enjoy deer meat. The things you are suggesting are all either dangerous, petty, or stupid.

Best advice to save a life: Let them hunt so that they can help ensure that there isn't an overpopulation of deer in your area. If there ever gets to be an overpopulation then it will lead to fawns starving and more deer being hit by cars. (So them hunting helps the deer and those of us who would rather not die when we hit a deer on the road.)

I'm an animal lover and I can appreciate the sentiment behind what you are trying to do, but your way of going about it makes me extremely uncomfortable. I think going all covert like that is really underhanded and sneaky, and not something you would feel very good about in the long run - especially if one of your efforts backfired and someone got hurt. I think it's fine to talk to them honestly about how you feel, and leave it at that - but actually trying to take steps to prevent them is all kinds of wrong, in my book.

I dislike the sport very much and I find it very brave of you to do all of that. But like everyone else said I would be very upset if someone ruined riding season for me. But I'm sure you will make the right decision to choose to take away their sport for a couple days or them be happy and you just having to live with it. Don't get me wrong I hate when my family goes hunting.

My father use to go deer hunting (he stopped because he is the only one who eats venison), and I hated it. Unfortunately, as long as they are hunting legally, there's not much you can do without risking a major backfire. And as SmoothTrails said, it's actually good for the deer population to be hunted.

If it makes you feel any better, just because they go hunting, it doesn't guarantee that they will be able to kill anything. I know lots of hunters who go out, and come home empty-handed.

Good luck with whatever you decide!

If your worried about their personal safety, you could sign them all up for a hunter safety class. Tell them if they love you they will go.
If you worried about them killing an animal, I think your just going to have to get past it. I used to be very against hunting. Now we have a freezer full of venison because I have family who hunt but don't eat the meat. I just hate to see it go to waste.
