My hubby is wonderful and loves to buy gifts but I keep telling him they are not required.
I think finally he is getting it through his thick skull that when I say "nothing" I mean it. But I did ask for a wheelbarrow for Christmas and he thought I was nuts....tee he..
If I ever get a boyfriend, he better know to get me a pony off my wish list and not a box of chocolates!

Holidays are pointless without lots and lots of food. I propose a new Valentines Day tradition of a liqueur chocolate-eating contest between the two lovingly attached people. Whoever is sick last wins!

When we were getting married he gave the choice of a big ring or a custom saddle...I chose the saddle. That should of been a clue ;)

I'm volunteering for the Heart and Stroke Foundation Red Dress Gala on VD. I get to dress up for a good cause and there's no strings attached. Sounds like a good night to me!

I haven't read through all the posts - but I always thought VD was more or less for guys to get their honey something...and for her to appreciate it and go "awe, how sweet!". So, good thing I am married and don't have to wonder if my VD etiquette is lacking....b/c, OP, I would get a card and call it good!

I just buy myself something and show DH what he got me. It is a silly "day", which makes it kind of fun.

Missy: But don't you remember buying me this lovely new horse trailer, darling? It was my present for Valentine's Day!

haha...no, not unless it have living quarters b/c I would be living in it after that. This year "he" didn't spend much, I got myself a pendleton coffee mug. I ("he") should of gotten the blanket!

It's much more low key in Canada. The kids pass out inexpensive punch-out valentines to all the class and despite all the marketing, the ladies might get a nice card along with a box of chocolates and maybe even some flowers. Marketers would love to make it as extravagant as Christmas.

Well I tried talking to the bf again, and asked him what he wanted. Guitar strings! Yay! I can actually afford and easily get those I'm not feeling so overwhelemed now.
