Applying for job need help writing my resume

I am applying for a job at two different 24 hr fitness and I am writing a resume and need help with it. So correct any grammar/spelling mistakes I am really bad at it on the computer.
Thanks guys I am really needing help write it. :) I know that's horrible but I do
Ok here it goes

I am attending a college Tarrant community college. I am studying to become a teacher I am taking my basics first before I get into child development courses but I will eventually become a preschool teacher and then a riding instructor for kids and start my own program for kids who have Down syndrome and who are blind to give kids the power to do something exciting. Horses can do that for children they make them smile and enjoy there time and I am wanting to do that for kids who donít really get to do much I am excited to get started on that some day.
My experience with children is I started out working in October of 2009 at my Church Mansfield Bible Church as a babysitter on Saturday evenings from 6-9 pm. I would sit and play with the children mainly the girls but I had to watch the boys as well. Then I started working at a summer camp Camp-El hard as a camp counselor I worked with children and played with the kids taught the kids about horses and about God. I also went to TCU to play with kids that have Down syndrome. I also do a lot of babysitting I have been a nanny to some families I would watch TV with them take them to there practices up at the Club and we would also go swimming up at the Country Club. I would also be watching children around my neighborhood as well.

Are you writing a resume or a cover letter?

Having worked in the corporate business world for 30+ years and reviewed thousands of resumes, I suggest you look at/use a resume template that you can find on the internet. There are many web sites, an example is Free resume templates They typically also provide you tips on content and style.
Basic tips...A resume is a tool to 'sell' yourself. Keep it short (not 'wordy' and no more than two pages), factual, easy to read, and professional looking. You want your resume to get you 'in the door' to an interview where you will have the chance to be descriptive and talk about what is in your resume (and more).

I totally agree with PaintHorse (although God didn't paint all the good ones). I've owned three mortgage companies in several states over the past 20 years, and managed auto dealerships before that.

What I want to see in a resume is something pertinent to the position I was advertising to fill. Your narrative is more suited for watching children then working at a fitness club. What can you point to in your experience that shows me the ability to do the job I'm offering?

I am applying for the child care at the fitness club. That's what my resume is about.

What you wrote above, is that your cover letter or resume? I hope it's your cover letter because it does not look like what a resume should look like. :(

That is why I need help. I dunno what a cover letter should be? I never heard of it.

The reason. I never had to give a resume or anything to my last 3 jobs. That were child care and I was also in the buisness were I answered phones etc.

That's OK. Everyone has to start somewhere, but I think your last three jobs were the exception to the rule when it comes to no resume. Most jobs in a professional capacity will require both a cover letter and/or resume.

Do you have Microsoft Office?

I had to give a testomony at my last two jobs because it was christian based and the first job I had was with my Father I didn't even have to do a application for my first two jobs. Only for my previous. I applied online for this job and I will give my resume if they call for a job interview so far I haven't had to have a resume at job interviews. But if I get this job I wil take in my resume since I had to fill it out quickly...

I dont' dare to give you very exact tips because these resume things are perhaps a little different in different countries. Here's still some American examples I found on the web: Job Bank USA: Employment, Job Search, Careers, Computer Jobs . You can see example resumes and tips for writing a resume there.

I'm not sure if I've messed up with terms but for me your example sounds more a cover letter or a job application than a resume. I've caught that in resume you list your working/education history and some other important things with a short brief. At least we do it that way over here.

Check the site I offered you. And good luck with applying that job.
