Thanks :) She's as rotten as she is cute. I will count down for you Alex! I am certain that you very much deserve that break.

Yeah, hopefully not too many calls. Her bff's mom & I both warned their teacher haha!

We're late starters here, Jamie doesn't start 4th grade until the day after Labor Day. She's itching to go though, everyday her backpack is out and she's going thru things, LOL. She get's to go help the teacher get ready for the year, so she's super excited about that. (That may change once she finds out he assigns lots of homework, hehehe).

I have one more year before my little monster, um I mean Shane starts preschool.

Here school starts Sept . 4th. An August start would be torture. August is when real summer finally starts. Will be in the 90's this week. But the don't get out until late June.

I loved the whole back to school thing; shopping for new clothes, walking them to school and finding out which teacher and classroom they had, reconnecting with other parents I hadn't seen all summer. Love it!

Second grade is a very special time.

It used to be labor day here but it gets earlier and earlier every year. It's a big sore spot with a lot of locals as we live in a lake/resort/amusement park town (well I'm outside of town technically) and it forces the resorts and amusement park to get temps because they lose their teenage summer workers.

You are so right about the back to school fun, Caroline. I was super proud of Morgan with shopping. She was given a budget and I let her pick her things herself. She is definitely my kid because she only bought one thing (tennis shoes) that wasn't on sale or a clearance rack :)

I've got friends pushing me to be on the pto board, not sure if I want to be a part of that drama.

A cutie. The "lower grades" were so fun! Mine are in high school now and they started back this week. I miss having them around, but not the dishes!! Oh, howdie!!

Judging from the posts, some schools still start around labor day? Interesting. That is about when they started when I was a kid...but they just kept pushing in it back and ending in the spring semester sooner. Whatever.

I'm a senior this year. I don't have to go to school until eleven and I have three electives and two required classes.

I am so looking forward to High School Equestrian Team, but I know that at the "graduation" they do for us I am going to absolutely bawl. Actually I'm tearing up thinking about it The seniors on all the teams ride in on their horses, they read a paragraph for you, the coaches, parents, and district chairs come and decorate your tack with flowers, and then we all lope around to a sad song...Last year, I was only watching and I totally broke down and cried at every person whether I knew it or not.

Same will happen at state for Speech & Debate. I am a four-year state qualifier so I will get special recognition at the awards ceremony at State and I'm going to cry there too.

And of course, Future Business Leaers of America does a four-year state thing too. Excellent o.o

Also there's always the ACTUAL high school graduation....safk;jsdhfsak;dlkf. How am I going to survive the last few months o.o
