Cool and yuck at the same time.

I would have squashed that spider, only because I would be afraid it would somehow crawl on me when I least suspect it. ICK

Beautiful pictures though! Indeed not bad for a phone!

I love the responses! Not a single "kill it with fire!" response. Gorgeous spider! To my amazement, our barn was riddled with Argiope aurantia this year. It was wonderful!

Your photos are lovely!

I had a few living in my gourd plants on my porch one year. Everyone freaked out that I didn't kill them. It was so much fun, E named them, got to watch them mate, kill the males, eat them, and make their egg sacks. It was so sad when the mom died, she curled up next to her nest. I wrapped bale netting around the babies and watched them hatch the next spring. None stuck around though!
